Answers, basics & helpful tools.
Common questions, a closer look at gut and metabolic health, and where to find professional-grade supplements.
Frequently asked questions.
What is your training background?
I earned my bachelor of science in biochemistry from Charleston Southern University and my Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from Gardner-Webb University, then spent nine years in hospital medicine.
I'm certified through Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® (FDNP) and the Functional Medicine Academy (FMACP). In this practice I provide education and wellness support, not medical care. Read my story.
Where are you located?
Southeastern Holistic Medicine is based in South Carolina, and I work with clients virtually across the U.S. Lab kits ship to your home.
Is Southeastern Holistic Medicine a good fit for me?
If you want a natural, whole-body approach and a plan built around you, it may be a great fit. We often start with gut health, because digestion connects to so much of how you feel, from energy and mood to your immune system.
We look at your history, diet, lifestyle and environment, and use functional testing when it's helpful, to create your personalized wellness plan. The best way to know is a free Discovery Call.
Do you diagnose or prescribe?
No. I provide education and wellness support. I don't diagnose, treat or prescribe, and I'm not a substitute for your medical provider.
Will you be my primary care provider?
No. Keep working with your doctors. My role is to support your whole-body wellness alongside the care you already have, and I encourage you to share any changes with your medical provider.
Can I work with you if I take medication?
Yes. I don't change or prescribe medications. Keep working with your prescriber. If you take hormone-related medication such as birth control or thyroid medication, results are interpreted with that in mind.
How do the lab tests work?
Four are simple kits you complete at home. One is a blood draw, done at a local lab or by a phlebotomist of your choice. Kits are timed to arrive when you're home. You're also welcome to share recent lab work from your doctor.
How long is the program?
The Total Health Transformation Program is 90 days. Your 90 days begin with your results and recommendations session, once your labs are back. Testing usually takes a few weeks before that.
Everyone's body and timeline are different, so at the end we'll talk about what support, if any, makes sense next.
How do we meet?
Sessions happen by video. Between sessions you can text quick questions during office hours.
How much does the program cost?
We go over program details and investment on your free Discovery Call, so you can decide what's right for you.
Do you accept health insurance? Can I use my HSA or FSA?
I don't accept insurance, and I'm not able to provide diagnosis or billing codes.
Many clients have used their HSA or FSA to pay for the program. Eligibility depends on your plan, so check with your plan administrator first.
Do you offer refunds?
Much of the work happens up front, including your intake, lab testing and education materials, so refunds are limited. Refund terms are explained in your client agreement before you begin. If you ever have a concern, please reach out so we can make it right.
How do I get started?
Book a free Discovery Call. We'll talk through your health story, your goals, and whether the Total Health Transformation Program is a good fit.
Your gut is part of the bigger picture.
Digestion does more than process food. How well your gut works can affect how you absorb nutrients, how your immune system responds, how much energy you have, and even your mood.
Bloating, gas, reflux, constipation, diarrhea and food reactions are common signs that your digestion needs support. We look at what may be contributing, such as diet, stress, food sensitivities or the balance of your gut microbiome, and how it connects to the rest of your health.
Weight is one part of your story.
Lasting weight change isn't about crash diets or willpower. Nutrition, blood sugar, hormones, sleep, stress and activity can all play a role, and they're different for every person.
We look at your whole health picture and build habits that support your metabolism, without shame and without quick fixes. The goal is a way of eating and living that feels sustainable.
Professional-grade supplements.
I recommend only the highest-quality, professional-grade supplements, mainly through Designs for Health and Fullscript, shipped directly to you.
