Do you accept health insurance?
We do not accept health insurance. Our services are considered elective as it is above the standard of care. We can review the lab work that you have completed at your primary care doctor or other specialists. If we need updated labs, we can have some of the basic labs ordered through your primary care doctor. However, we do advanced labs and tests that primary care doctors often do not order.

How long will I need to be in the program?
This will depend on how long you have had chronic disease, and based on the complexity of your case. On average, patients need 3 to 6 months to have major improvement in their symptoms and health. After this, many choose to stay with the program for maintenance health being seen occasionally to achieve and maintain their health goals and vitality. For more complex cases, such as those with chronic diseases for 3 to 5 years or longer, it may take 12 to 24 months to have major symptom improvement and achieve health goals. We do individualized plans for each patient, and the goal is the same, to get to the root cause to improve, heal, and prevent disease.

Is Southeastern Holistic Medicine a good fit for me?
We start with and focus on gut health, because gut health IS health. If your gut is not functioning appropriately, you can have anxiety, depression, brain fog, memory problems, allergies, rashes, autoimmune disease, immunodeficiency causing recurrent infections, endotoxin release into the bloodstream, chronic inflammation, joint pain, in addition to GI symptoms such as constipation, bloating, diarrhea, GERD, IBD, SIBO, etc. This list is not all inclusive, but to give you a broad idea of the importance of gut health. If you want holistic, natural care, where we are able to do advanced testing not done by your conventional primary care doctor, then Southeastern Holistic Medicine is a great fit for you. Holistic care is important because people need to be treated as a whole, and not piece by piece. Disease states are like a domino effect, and therefore, root cause medicine is necessary. Regaining your health is multi-faceted. We will focus on getting a thorough history to see what has affected you through diet, genetics, lifestyle, and environment to formulate your specific treatment plan.

How much will functional medicine cost?
We have different package plans for your specific needs. Ultimately, the cost depends on the extent of what will need to be treated. Your health is the most important thing you have, and most times we do not realize this until it is gone. Your health is your best investment, and getting you to optimal health is what you pay for.
-
Will you be my primary care doctor?
No. My goal is to work with you and your doctors to get you to optimal health. Some will stay with the program for ongoing annual maintenance, pre-pay for so many appointments per year, and to continue with discounted supplements, but some complete the program and do not need me anymore.

Do you offer refunds?
We do a lot of work up front getting your history and doing your intake, as well as getting the advanced lab work. You will have access to the education materials as well. Due to this, getting a refund is not cut and dry. Our patients have been very pleased with their results. If you have any issues, please reach out so we can make it right.
